PELONOMI CHILDREN's HOME COMMUNITY PROJECT

The Pelonomi Children's Home, located in Jouberton, is headed by Pastor Jeremiah Nyembe. This home has become a lifeline for orphaned children who have lost their parents to HIV/AIDS, violence or were simply abandoned by their family. The children are staying in a residential home where up to 75 kids can be living at one time. Unfortunately, this home only has 4 bedrooms with many children sharing beds and sleeping on the floor. Reverend Nyembe has several staff members who ensure the children are safe and receive education while also contacting local families about adopting these children.

Reverend Nyembe has also started the Klerksdorp Girls High School which is located in downtown Jouberton. The high school consists of grades 9-12. There are 8 teachers (math, English, Outcome Based Education, etc.) who provide instruction for girls who come from troubled homes or circumstances that require the care and counseling only available from this Christian High School.
